A New Zealand citizen accused of working for a Chinese Triad has been arrested after a cannabis bust in Ireland.

The Irish Times reported three men were detained after police uncovered a huge cannabis-growing operation in County Cork.

Detectives raided an old Victorian house and found plants worth as much as €250,000 (NZ$370,000).

One room was filled with 300 cannabis plants and a second was set up to grow more plants, complete with lighting, heating and hydroponic system, the Irish paper reported.
